To traditional value investors, this number looks completely detached from reality. To futurists and tech optimists, it is an absolute steal.
To understand why SpaceX is valued where it is, and whether it is overvalued or undervalued, we have to look past the rockets. We have to look at infrastructure, control, and the velocity of capital.
Today, society's most critical assets are already space-dependent. Every tank, autonomous car, and commercial airplane relies fundamentally on GPS controlled from orbit.
But SpaceX’s true current masterstroke is Starlink. By surpassing 10 million active customers across 160 countries, Starlink is making high-speed internet ubiquitous. In an imminent future populated by AI agents and localized robot automation, constant, un-droppable connectivity isn't a luxury; it’s a baseline requirement for society to function.

Starlink is already a massive profit engine, generating $4.4 billion in operating profit on its own in 2025. With high-margin commercial cloud contracts locking in billions in recurring revenue, and Starship lowering the cost of lifting mass into orbit by orders of magnitude, the long-term upside easily spans into the trillions.
If SpaceX successfully monopolizes the logistical and data pathways of the new space economy, a $2.4 trillion valuation might look incredibly cheap a decade from now.
The Macro Ramifications: The Velocity of Money
Beyond space exploration, the financial mechanics of SpaceX’s growth carry massive societal ramifications closer to home.
The wealth created by these market caps doesn't simply disappear into a vacuum. The liquidity event of a massive public offering creates thousands of millionaires, including early employees, engineers, and investors.
When capital is unlocked at that scale, it cascades directly back into the broader economy. This wealth generation leads directly to capital reinvestment in real estate, consumer goods, and local businesses.
